Frequently Asked

Common questions

How do I connect my Zoom account to OneThing?+
Sign in to OneThing, go to Settings → Calendar, find the Zoom card, and click Connect Zoom. You’ll be redirected to Zoom’s authorization screen. Review the permissions and click Allow. Zoom will redirect you back to OneThing and the card will show your Zoom email and a Disconnect button. Full scope-by-scope details and troubleshooting are at /docs/zoom.
How do I disconnect Zoom, Google, Microsoft, Dialpad, or RingCentral?+
Go to Settings → Calendar (for email and meeting providers) or Settings → Integrations (for VoIP providers) and click Disconnect on the relevant card. OneThing deletes the stored OAuth tokens immediately and stops webhook processing for your account. You can also revoke access directly in the provider’s own account settings (e.g. Zoom App Marketplace → Installed Apps).
I see “This app is not approved for your Zoom account” when connecting.+
During the pilot phase, OneThing’s Zoom app is in unlisted mode. Your Zoom admin email must be on our allow list before the consent screen will appear. Email support@1thing.ca with the email address you use to sign in to Zoom and we’ll add you within one business day.
Clicking the phone icon on a contact doesn’t do anything.+
For Zoom Phone, the Zoom desktop or mobile app must be installed and running on the same device. OneThing uses the zoomphonecall:// URI scheme to hand off outbound calls to the Zoom client, which only resolves if Zoom is installed. For Dialpad and RingCentral, check Settings → Integrations — the relevant provider must show as Connected. If you recently reconnected, log out and back in so the session picks up the new token.
My inbound calls aren’t creating pop-ups in the CRM.+
Three things must be true: (1) the provider must be connected (Settings → Integrations shows Connected), (2) the provider’s webhook subscription must be validated on our side, and (3) the call must ring your personal number on that provider (not a shared / queue line — shared-line webhooks are not enabled by default). If all three look right and pop-ups still don’t appear, email support with the call time and number so we can check the server-side webhook logs.
A voicemail was left but the transcript never appeared.+
Transcription typically completes within two minutes of the voicemail being received. If more than ten minutes have passed, the most common cause is a transient OpenAI API error (we retry automatically up to three times) or a recording that was too short or silent to transcribe. Email support with the call time and the voicemail sender number so we can check the logs.
How do I export my data?+
Go to Settings → Data Export. You can export contacts, leads, deals, and activities as CSV. Files include your custom fields. If you’ve cancelled your account and need your data after the 30-day retention window, email privacy@1thing.ca.
How do I delete my account and all my data?+
Go to Settings → Account and click Delete account, or email privacy@1thing.ca. We delete account data within 30 days of the request, except where required by law to retain billing records (typically seven years for financial records). Details are in our Privacy Policy.
I’m an EU / UK resident. Does PIPEDA cover me?+
OneThing is Canadian and follows PIPEDA as its baseline privacy framework. For EU / UK users, we apply equivalent GDPR / UK GDPR rights on request — access, portability, erasure, restriction, and objection. Send requests to privacy@1thing.ca; we respond within 30 days.
